Though Talia sketched ideas for this dress long before production began, we approached its development with wisdom gained from our first collection. Your feedback was our guide—you wanted a closed-back dress that maintained feminine elegance while providing all-day comfort.

Our journey to creating the Alma took an unexpected turn when we explored manufacturing in India after attending a friend's wedding there. We fell in love with Jaipur, the "Pink City," known for its relaxed atmosphere (by Indian standards). As we wandered through its colorful streets, we discovered stunning block prints and fabrics. Unlike other regions where we mostly encountered large factories with high Minimum Order Quantities, we found smaller factories in Jaipur whose craftsmanship aligned with our values—artisans skilled at producing pieces of exceptional quality. Manufacturing in India opened up exciting possibilities, allowing us to source a remarkable variety of fabrics directly.

However, the journey wasn't without challenges. Originally scheduled for Spring 2024, the Alma launched nearly a full year later for Winter/Spring 2025. The entire collection faced what could only be described as a perfect storm of setbacks. By the time we were satisfied with the design, the intended season had passed.

We faced a choice: rush the process or stay true to our values. For us, there was only one option—we refused to release anything we weren't proud of, even if that meant missing an entire season. Our commitment to high-quality, sustainable clothing guides every decision we make.

The process brought headaches, tears, near mental breakdowns, and new gray hairs. When the finished Alma dresses finally arrived in San Diego after an eight-month delay, the satisfaction was immense.

The Alma features an elastic neckline that sits perfectly on the shoulders while allowing easy wear. Its tiered skirt adds beautiful volume and movement without overwhelming the silhouette.
