Craft & Values

Most clothing is made to be replaced. Ours is made to be kept.

We make in small batches, by hand, with our own eyes on every piece — from the first sketch to the final stitch. We can't do everything a large company does. But we can be there ourselves, for all of it.

Behind Cocopiña

Cocopiña is two people: Talia and Johannes — and we make our clothing the way two people can. By hand, in small batches, with our own eyes on every piece, from the first sketch to the final stitch. We can't do everything a large company does. But we can be there ourselves, for all of it.

Designed in San Diego

Every piece starts as a sketch. Before it goes anywhere near production, we test how it fits, how it moves, and how it feels at the end of a long day — not just the first hour of one. We live with pieces ourselves and change what isn't right. It's slower. It's also the only way to know a piece works in a real life, on a real body.

Made in small batches

Most Cocopiña pieces are made in India, with some made in Thailand. We produce in small batches — so we make less, waste less, and stay close to every piece we put into the world.

We've personally inspected every factory we work with, and we return at least once a year — to check the work, meet the team, and see the conditions for ourselves. We choose partners whose standards match our own, and we don't hand that judgment to anyone else.

Chosen fabric by fabric

We choose the fabric to suit the piece — not the other way around. Each one is selected for how it feels, how it moves, and how it holds up over years of wear and washing. We test everything ourselves before it becomes a Cocopiña piece. If a fabric won't last, we don't use it.

Slow fashion, honestly

Slow fashion isn't a marketing word for us — it's the size we are and the way we work. We're a small company, without the resources or the certifications a large one can carry. We're honest about that. What we have instead is our own hands on every piece: chosen by us, tested by us, inspected by us.

The result is clothing made to last — fewer pieces, made well, and meant to stay with you.
